Our Beginning

Southlake Tutoring Academy began in 2014 with a vision to provide families with afterschool care that transcended mere babysitting, focusing instead on fostering an enriching learning environment for children. Our mission was to support developmental growth and academic success through engaging programs that continue the educational journey beyond the school day. Over the years, we have grown to serve hundreds of local families, establishing ourselves as a cornerstone of the Southlake community.

In January of 2025, Southlake Tutoring Academy was lovingly purchased by Ryan and Suky Longfield, STA parents themselves and renamed the Learning Academy Southlake. As we expand our programming, improve the facility and develop our staff, we remain committed to creating opportunities that ignite curiosity and empower children to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

A Closer Look Inside Camps

Academic Rotations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are formulated to prevent “summer slide” and even gain ground before the Fall. Your child will gain skills in Math, English, Reading, Handwriting and more though these weekly classes. They are short 20-30 minute bursts with activities in between to help children stay focused and enjoy the lessons. Groups are divided by rising grade, Kinder, 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th+ are all grouped together

Excursions on Tuesdays to a local Pool*, Park or Movie Theater for fun and to mix things up. Please note, out of an abundance of caution, we will not have any immersion swimming this year.

Field trip Fridays are a fun opportunity to get out the building, visiting new or familiar locations around DFW. Occasionally, we will have a fun day IN at the Academy where we have a pizza party with special activities.

Themed Weeks: Our themed activities are a blast and keep kids learning all summer long! From reading and math games to hands-on projects and real-world adventures, we make sure the fun never stops.
